Nanny / Family Assistant in Silverlake, Los Angeles

About the job

The schedule is 35 hours per week. Schedule is somewhat flexible with 25 hours needed during the week, which can be spread across 3-5 weekdays + 10 hours per week devoted to date nights/weekend overnight child care. Rate is $35hr + benefits package (two-weeks PTO, paid holidays, wellness leave, contribution toward health insurance, and mileage reimbursement for errands using your personal vehicle). All candidates must be vaccinated + boosted for covid and be willing to stay up to date on TDAP.

They currently have a 5 year old little girl who starts kindergarten in the fall and are expecting a little boy (due on August 25th). This role is quite unique in that for the first first 6-10 months of work, you will focus heavily on providing household support. Once the baby becomes a bit more independent from mom, you will shift into more of a nanny role and care for the baby during the day.

They have two 10-15lb Havanese dogs who need love, care and occasional belly rubs. When the family travels they will continue to pay full wages in exchange for pet-sitting/housesitting duties. And, while not a requirement, they are also open to paying additional wages and all travel expenses should the person in this role be willing to provide travel nanny support. They will also pay additional per head for play dates and for aggregating child care needs when they occasionally go out with friends who also have children.

They have professional cleaners who come in weekly to deep clean the house, but they will need help with general upkeep + keeping the house tidy. The household helper duties will include:

Household laundry (Pre-treating and stain removal, Washing, drying and folding, Hand-washing and hang-drying for certain delicate items, Very limited ironing)
Housekeeping (Rinsing/washing dishes, unloading/loading dishwasher, Wiping down surfaces, as needed, Sweeping and swiffering, Making beds, Hosing down patio, Watering potted plants, Keeping interior of dishwasher and washing machine clean and free of debris)
Receiving and putting away delivered groceries and household items
Child Care (Childcare for date night and occasional weekend/overnights, Occasional school/activity drop-offs and pick-ups)
Pet Care (Taking dogs on daily, 15-minute walk, Let dogs out back when they need relief, removing pet messes promptly, Occasional feeding, Arrange hand-off to mobile groomer, Occasional light grooming: paw washes, wiping beards after eating, cleaning corners of eyes, brushing teeth, and putting in fresh top knot)
Errands (Dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up, Grocery or take-out pickups)
Household Organization (Small house projects, such as closet and storage clean-outs / reorganization, checking stock levels of household supplies, replenishing and alerting when levels are low)
