PT Nanny / Family Assistant in Bethesda, Maryland

Schedule: 15 guaranteed hours/week Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 1pm-6pm

Children: 5-year-old & 2.5-year-old

Compensation: $28-$32/hr +2-weeks salary bonus

A conscientious, kind family of four in Bethesda, Maryland is seeking a warm and playful nanny/family assistant to care for their two daughters and assist with tasks around the home while the girls are in school.




Their well-mannered, bright 5-year-old daughter has a big imagination. She loves storytelling, singing, and dancing. She enjoys playing outside, ballet, crafts, dolls, learning, and reading. She will attend kindergarten this fall and is dismissed at 3pm. Her sweet, cheerful 2.5-year-old sister loves being independent and enjoys the challenge of doing things on her own. She adores her big sister and likes to be included in her activities. She has excellent vocabulary and verbal skills. She enjoys sensory play, dolls, playing with her pretend kitchen, playing hide and seek, reading, animals, and visiting playgrounds. She will be attending preschool in the fall and will also be dismissed at 3pm. This tight-knit family enjoys going to playgrounds, the library, museums, the neighborhood pool, spending time with other young families/friends, and trying new foods. They are excited to do even more as the world continues to open, post-pandemic. Both mom & dad may be working from home a few days a week. The family has a housekeeper who comes on a weekly basis.



This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, playful, and brings an “all-hands-on-deck” attitude to their role. This family values kindness, clear communication, collaboration, trust, and someone who “oozes warmth”. A candidate who is passionate about creating a playful environment for the children to thrive in will be valued by this family for years to come. Responsibilities include fulfilling family assistant tasks, family meal prep, light tidying, family laundry, child-related inventory management, and providing safe transportation for the children to and from school (a few minutes from their home). The family also works with a housekeeper. A candidate who has a love for cooking would be welcomed and appreciated but is not required for an otherwise perfect applicant!



Requirements:

· Minimum of 3 years of recent, professional, paid childcare experience

· High school diploma

· Valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle

· At least 21 years of age

· Comfortable prepping basic meals for the family

· Currently fully COVID-19 vaccinated & boosted (if eligible)

· Note: All eligible household members are fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Schedule:

The schedule is part-time, guaranteeing 15 hours/week, with the general schedule falling on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1pm to 6pm. There can be some flexibility with this schedule. Occasional flexibility to stay until 7pm, on weeks when Dad is traveling, will be asked, and appreciated. Opportunities for weekend hours and overnights will be available, with advanced notice.



Compensation:

The family is offering $28-$32/hour, based on 15 hours/week which equates to $420-$480/week.



All rates are commensurate with experience, credentials, longevity with past employers, and level of completed education.



Benefits:

The family is open to providing benefits including an end of the year bonus equivalent to 2 weeks salary, paid time off, paid major holidays, and mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate (62.5 cents/mile) for on-the-job travel.
