A conscientious, warm family of three in northwest D.C. is seeking a professional, flexible nanny to care for their 2-year-old son.
Their happy, affectionate 2-year-old son loves to be held when reading a book or singing a song! He enjoys music in the form of toys that play songs or using his toy instruments. He likes to go on walks as well! Their son was born with a genetic condition and therefore has a few special needs. Mobility wise, he can crawl and just started using a walker. He weighs 24lbs and needs to be carried up the stairs. He can sit up on his own. He wears hearing aids and uses a combination of verbal communication and American Sign Language (ASL). While ASL is not a requirement for the position, someone who has a willingness to learn is important. He gets 100% of his nutrition through a g-tube (pre-made formula) and the family will show the nanny how administer the formula (it is quite easy). Socially, emotionally, and cognitively he is neurotypical. As a family of three, they enjoy the outdoors! They like taking walks with their son in the stroller to explore different parts of the city or to get ice cream. Both parents are very active and enjoy running and doing exercise videos. The three of them exercise “together” and their son laughs at their workout moves! The family enjoys singing songs together as well. Both sets of grandparents live nearby. Dad has a hybrid remote work from home schedule and mom will be working from home sometimes, as well. doing exercise videos.
This position is ideal for the candidate who brings a professional, warm, empathetic, flexible disposition to their role each day. Responsibilities include providing a safe environment for their son to grow and thrive, child-related laundry and tidying, feeding their son through the g-tube, incorporating activities from PT/OT throughout the day, and planning fun activities for their child.

· High school diploma
· Valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle
· At least 21 years of age
· Willingness to learn basic ASL & PT/OT activities
· Currently fully COVID-19 vaccinated & boosted
· Note: All eligible household members are fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Schedule:
The schedule is part-time, guaranteeing 15-27 hours/week. The schedule will be provided one month in advance. The general schedule will fall on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9am to 6:30pm, typically 10-12 days per month.
Compensation:
The family is offering $32-$37/hour and a $5K signing bonus.
