Educationally Minded Nanny/Family Assistant Needed for Bourbonnais, IL Family - $86k per year!! - Job #635
A very warm and loving family in a suburban town about 1 hour outside of Chicago is in need of a Professional Nanny/Family Assistant starting ASAP (mid-August at the latest). They have 4 children ages 6, 4, and 3-year-old twins. The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm, with 45 hours guaranteed. They love the outdoors and are seeking a nanny who is active, energetic, and values lots of outdoor time, weather permitting! They are offering a compensation package including $35/hour for 45 guaranteed hours per week ($86k per year) + paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance/housing stipend for the right candidate! Mom is home throughout the day and while there is tag teaming and overlapping involved, the nanny will have freedom and autonomy to plan their day. The older kids are in school, so the nanny will primarily be caring for the twins during the day.
They practice limited screen time and believe in a healthy mix of engaging, structured activities and independent free play. A nanny who is educationally minded and skilled at incorporating learning into the daily routine would be a great fit! Their children are very energetic and active, so a nanny who can juggle 4 young kids is a must! Their ideal nanny is upbeat, has a positive attitude, comes into work ready to go, and is willing to pitch in where needed. Their ideal candidate loves to get out and about with the kids and will take the initiative to research and plan age-appropriate activities and classes. They would like someone who is proactive and doesn’t need to be micromanaged — someone who understands that while they are a part of the family, they are also still committed to having a strong work ethic and meeting the job expectations. The job responsibilities will include anything and everything related to the kids and family, such as: meal prep (cooking is important in this job, so someone who is very comfortable in the kitchen), keeping inventory of items and ordering when running low, grocery shopping, laundry, organizing, light housekeeping (they have a weekly housekeeper so no deep cleaning involved!), running errands, and more.
They are a Christian family and the parents believe in raising kind, self-sufficient, happy children. They are hands-on parents who view their nanny as an extension of themselves. They are involved with their children and help to maintain the household, so not everything falls solely on the nanny! They would like a nanny who can assess what works best for each child, and implement age-appropriate consequences, set boundaries, and follow-through. The parents truly view their nanny as a part of the parenting team, and want everyone to be a united front when it comes to raising the kids. Both parents may travel from time to time, so interested candidates must have experience with overnights and caring for children around the clock. In addition, the nanny will occasionally be needed to travel with the family. This family truly treats their nanny as a part of the family and they are looking for someone excited about the opportunity to join their team for years to come!
DETAILS:
- Schedule: M-F, 9am-6pm, 45 guaranteed hours per week + overtime for any hours above 40.
- Start date: ASAP / Mid-August at the latest
- 4 children: 6 years, 4 years, and 3-year-old twins- Start Date: August 1 (slightly flexible for the right candidate)
- Pets: 1 Bernadoodle
- Nanny car provided for work-related drives (candidate must have own car to commute to/from work)
- Duties: Full charge childcare + child-related tasks such as laundry, washing bottles, meal prep, tidying child areas, planning outings/activities, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Interested candidates MUST have a minimum of 3+ years of Professional Nanny experience
- Current on vaccinations (including COVID and annual flu shot)
- Clean background and driving record
- CPR/First Aid Certified (or willing to get certified before hire)
- Stellar references and letters of recommendation
- Preference given to candidates who have additional professional development certifications, especially toddler/preschool related.
COMPENSATION:
- $35 gross per hour/$86k gross per year, DOE for 45 guaranteed hours per week
