About the job

Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in the Sherwood Heights neighborhood of Asheville, NC in finding a Full-Time Nanny for their 9 year old daughter. The nanny would typically be needed Monday - Thursday 1:00 pm - 6:30 pm, and Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The family is willing to offer the nanny 30 - 40 hours a week, depending on the candidate's needs. There would also be opportunities for night and weekend sitting on an as needed basis.

The best nanny for this family would be trustworthy, engaging, social, and fun. Their daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, and mild Autism (she is very talkative). She is extremely bright, positive, and socially outgoing (and definitely not shy). The nanny would be responsible for coming in and picking her up from school Monday - Thursday (Friday she does not have school), and then taking her to therapy (speech and OT), and also taking her to group activities like sports or programs at the community center. Then bringing her home and helping with the start of her evening routine. In order to help her progress as much as possible, she is in therapy for Speech, OT, and Vision therapy. The family works with her on any therapy techniques at home and would expect the nanny to assist with some of the therapy that's required at home (it's usually fairly simple to perform), and to drive her to therapy appointments with specialists after school. It would be a plus, but not required, for the nanny to have experience working with children with learning differences.

The ideal candidate would be a nanny who is patient, kind, fun, and willing to learn therapy techniques and implement them. The family is also looking for an outgoing nanny who will be proactive in coming up with activities to do with their daughter in the afternoons. Their daughter likes to hike, bike, swim, play outside, play on the playground, do arts & crafts, light baking, and engage with other children. The best nanny would be a nanny who is active, likes to be outdoors, is enjoyable for their daughter to spend time with, and encourages her overall development. It would also be a plus for the nanny to have previous experience with energetic and determined children. The family is looking for a nanny who is a great communicator and can keep lines of communication open.
