Live in or Live out Nanny in Menlo Park, Los Angeles

A lovely family based in Menlo Park, CA, are seeking a seasoned nanny for their 2 children, aged 4 and 7-years. This position is open to both live-in and live-out candidates (there is separate accommodation available with everything but a kitchen, but of course the nanny is welcome to use theirs). The schedule will typically be 40-50 hours per week, from 11.30am-8.30pm (the girls are usually asleep by 7.30pm but this allows for wiggle room) Monday through Friday. Fridays will be an earlier finish as dad does “movie and dinner” with the girls, so the nanny will likely be done by 6pm. Flexibility to provide some coverage on Saturdays is ideal (this can be every other Saturday too, if that’s the candidate’s preference).



Responsibilities will include school drop-off and pick-up, basic food prep, taking the girls to the park, and generally ensuring their care and wellbeing at all times. The family do travel domestically and internationally and only ask that if the candidate would prefer to not join them, that they take their vacation at the same time - the family are usually away during Christmas week, for 1-2 weeks in the summer and during both Spring breaks. There is a full-time housekeeper, so it would be ideal if the nanny were willing to manage the girls' laundry, though she likely won't ever have to.



Candidates must be professional, proactive, and autonomous, with plenty of common sense and integrity. The family have a small pool so candidates must ideally be strong swimmers. Candidates must also drive, for the purpose of picking-up and dropping-off the girls at school/activities - the family will provide a car for use on duty.
