Part time Nanny in Telegraph Hill, London

We are two busy professionals, a writer and an executive, with two bright and energetic girls aged five and eight. Both girls are at the local primary school and love playing in the park most afternoons. We are looking for a nanny/house manager to become part of our household, and help it run more smoothly. We would like to find someone who enjoys being with kids, on their level; someone who can become a warm and joyful presence in their lives. We also need someone punctual and reliable, a confident cook and ideally a driver. We'd like to be able to delegate some admin tasks and errands, and would love to find a practical, enterprising person with initiative. We are looking for someone able to work after-school hours during term-time, with one full day focused on house management, as well as some full days during the holidays. We are happy to pay top rates for the best applicants, who are able to cover these different responsibilities and be flexible in this way.

We have a cleaner who comes once a week to do a full house clean so there is less housekeeping chores just mucking in with anything that you see needs doing.

Principal Hours, term-time:
Mon, Tues, Thurs: 2-7pm
Weds 8-6pm
Additional hours will be requested on occasional evenings and during school holidays

Total hours – about 30 hours/week
NB the full day of house management could be a mon/tues or weds, and the 'after-school' hours have a certain amount of flex, for the right person.
Duties, daily:
Help to tidy communal areas.
Pick the girls up from school.
Supervise the girls in the local park
Cook healthy, kid-and-parent friendly supper for the whole family.
Help with homework/ play games/ initiate projects
Help the girls to tidy their room and lay out their clothes for the next day.

One day per week:
Kids’ laundry
Tidying communal areas
Household errands and admin
Changing the girls’ beds (every fortnight)

Once a week the girls have an after-school swimming lesson, and there may be more activities in the coming year.

Holidays:
We are likely to offer many weeks more than statutory holiday, as we often take advantage of school holidays to see our families, who are in Scotland and the USA. Because of this, we are looking for someone who is happy to take their holiday entitlement at the same time as us. We would not expect the nanny to come on holiday with us.
