Duties:
We are looking for a nanny/house manager.
• Assist with language acquisition and development by speaking French to children 100% of the time to further bilingual skills;
• Transport children to and from school/activities/appointments;
• Organize children’s activities and playdates;
• Bathe and dress children;
• Manage family and household schedules and calendars;
• Communicate with Parents regarding children and information received from school, activities, appointments, etc.;
• Provide developmentally appropriate creative and educational activities, projects/crafts, and games;
• Support teaching and reinforcement of social skills (i.e. general hygiene, manners, etc.) and safety;
• Prepare breakfast/lunch and pack children’s bags for school and activities (e.g., ensure all school work is completed, pack school bags and gear for sports and activities, etc.);
• Ensure children’s bedrooms, bathrooms, and play areas are clean, organized, and tidy; o Laundry: We utilize a weekly laundry service, so Nanny would be responsible for gathering laundry for pick-up and putting laundry away once it is delivered back to our home. Additionally, Nanny is responsible for going through children’s clothing and packing up anything that has been outgrown.
• Pack and unpack children for trips/travel (create pack lists in advance to ensure children have everything needed prior to travel);
• Accompany family on trips, if needed, to help care for the children (compensation for trips to be discussed when they occur);
• Household management tasks to include (but not limited to):
o Grocery/household supply shopping;
o Fresh and healthy meal planning and preparation for Family (would love the inclusion of Nanny’s cultural dishes, as well);
o Maintain inventory checklists for household items, food, children’s essentials, family’s essentials, etc. and ordering through Amazon, Instacart, etc., or purchasing at the store;
o Run errands (e.g., shop for home supplies, returns, purchase school/craft supplies, purchase gifts for birthday parties’ children are attending, and other requested items);
o Organizational projects (e.g. closets, cabinets, pantry, playroom, children’s clothing, etc.);
o Assist with putting up and taking down holiday décor;
o Light housekeeping/tidying (e.g. laundry, making beds, loading/emptying dishwasher, tidying/sanitizing kitchen after use, light/surface clean of the floors, bathrooms, furniture, etc. in between biweekly housekeeping visits, or as needed if a mess is made, etc.);
o Schedule and oversee vendors and contractors (e.g. receive deliveries, service providers, etc.); This includes, but is not limited to: housekeepers, weekly laundry service, car detailing, etc.;
o Manage household petty cash (including proper documentation) and submission of house credit card purchases/receipts
Schedule: TBD-- 40 hours per week with occasional over time if Mom travels for work.
Accommodation (if provided): Not provided.
Salary on offer: Hourly rate depending on experience + overtime after 40 hours worked.
We will also provide:
• Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays. Additional days may be given at Family’s discretion based upon performance;
• Mileage/gas reimbursement (at the rate set forth by the IRS);
• CPR certification and continuing education;
• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required);
• Added as a member on all family memberships (zoo, museums, etc.);
• Discretionary additional bonuses and gifts to show appreciation and celebrate special holidays/occasions.
Additional information: Requirements:
• Native French speaker;
• 3+ years’ experience (MUST have experience with infants);
• CPR/First Aid Certified/Swimmer;
• Non-smoker;
• COVID vaccinated;
• Reliable transportation and good driving record;
• Pass background check and good references;
• Interested in staying with the family long-term and growing with the position;
• Personality characteristics: (i) loves children, (ii) organized/detail oriented, (iii) proactive, (iv) willing to wear multiple hats and pitch in to help the family stay successful and house running smoothly.
