Seeking a professional, experienced, and warm nanny/governess, with at least 5 years experience, for a Dubai-based family who regularly travel. The role will require working 6 days per week with a day off during the standard school week, from approximately 6am through to 7pm, with a break during the day. No cooking, laundry, or cleaning is required as the household is fully staffed.
The two older children (7 and 5) attend a prominent international school with the UK curriculum and the youngest (3) has just begun nursery - you will help with school/nursery drop offs and collections and with supporting their learning. This may include providing extra tutoring, supporting them with their homework, researching and arranging extra classes/activities where appropriate and generally encouraging them to reach their full potential. You will encourage and develop their interests, and will help foster a love of learning.
Other duties will involve helping Mum manage the household staff, including taking leadership initiatives where appropriate, to ensure the best care possible is provided for the children at all times by everyone. You will take responsibility for the children’s wardrobes and belongings and will encourage them to manage their own appearances and personal items, as well as their schedules. You will be expected to research and organise summer camps, holidays, local events and any activities that support knowledge, skill-building and the children's general development. You will also be responsible for planning and executing outings, birthday parties, home gatherings, playdates etc. and will work alongisde the chef to design healthy, nutritious and balanced meals.
The family travel regularly and there may be occasions when you will travel alone with the children. You will be expected to help with the planning and organising for any trips, researching activites, developing itineraries and schedules, designing travel menus and with all the packing.
The ideal candidate is warm, very educationally focused and demonstrates plenty of initiative. Please also be pro-active, creative, committed and have a real muck-in attitude. The role will be busy, you need to be passionate about children, must have a real love for education and learning and should be excited about the prospect of encouraging their curiosity and wonder in the world around them. It is important that the children have a home full of love and happiness, where emphasis is placed on kindness, empathy and healthy relationships. Supporting the development of their independence and resilience is also vital. Excellent English is essential, as is a Bachelors degree and preferably a Masters. The family would also prefer you to have a valid driving licence, previous experience living and / or working in UAE and a background in early years education. You will have your own bedroom and bathroom in Dubai, but will share with the children while travelling. The family will sponsor your visa application, offers 30 days paid annual leave, annual flight tickets home and healthcare.
