About the job

Seeking a full-time, Italian-speaking, educated live-in nanny for a family who are moving from New York to Ibiza in May/June 2022. The schedule will be Monday through Friday from approximately 7am - 8pm with a degree of flexibility preferred to cover for date nights, occasional weekend work and travel. Expect to work 6 days per week when travelling.

After the morning routine of helping the 3-year-old boy up and getting him ready for school, your focus will be on the household and with keeping on top of all child-related tasks. These may include, but are not limited to, errands, tidying his areas, doing his laundry and ironing, menu planning, grocery shopping, organising fun after-school activities and play dates, preparing snacks and tea for his return from school, and preparing a healthy, nutritious and well-balanced evening meal for the him and occasionally for the whole family. You will do the school pick up and will be responsible for him until his bedtime. The family would love to welcome a brother or sister for their son, so experience of newborns and infants would be a bonus.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of relevant experience, can really focus on the development of the child and has knowledge of behavioural and developmental milestones. You are organised, down to Earth, loving and caring; the family value gentle parenting and no shouting, and the household remains respectful at all times. You only need to be told something once and you demonstrate initiative and sound judgement - Mum is looking for a bright, positive and intelligent nanny who can become a member of the family and be her right hand person. You will be working alongside other staff, so you must be a team-player and be happy to step in wherever necessary, the family are not interested in someone who takes a narrow view of their role and who isn’t prepared to lend a hand and to take on whatever needs doing. Please also have a great sense of fun, be active and energetic, and a confident swimmer and driver. You must be a native Italian speaker with excellent English, and knowledge of Spanish would be helpful. You will have your own bedroom and bathroom.

There will be regular travel to the US (at least twice a year, COVID allowing), to South America (once per year) and possibly around Europe and to the UK. A European passport/visa is essential.

If you are interested in the role, have an EU visa or passport and are vaccinated against COVID, please apply to ZI098.
