Details of the assignment:

A friendly, young international family living in Reykjavik is looking for a a professional and highly experienced career nanny to join their lovely home and help them with their little boy aged 2.5. The position is live-in (with apartment on the ground floor ) or live-out( with separate apartment) and the nanny will need availability to work full-time 5 days a week. This vacancy requires a bilingual English and Spanish speaker.

The ideal candidate is experienced, confident and well-organised. It is important that the nanny is able to help the child follow a routine and collaborate with the parents to set up developmental milestones. The nanny will help the little boy to learn and develop through fun, age-appropriate activities. The ideal candidate has initiative and and can work independently and is happy to work closely with the parents who are at home and want to be hands on. The nanny should have a childcare qualification, and have a proven track record in a similar role. Having a sports or musical background is also desirable.

As a nanny, you will also be responsible for other tasks related to the wellbeing of the child. These tasks may include; dressing, bathing, washing, meal prep, playing and interacting with the child, alongside keeping the child’s play areas and bedroom neat and organised. You will need to be able to adapt to the day-to-day needs of the child and her parents. It is also important that you are kind, caring and understanding. Please note, the family enjoy travelling and the nanny will be expected to travel with them.


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Relevant childcare qualifications and at least 2-3 years working in a similar position, with a track record staying with families long term.
